That put a smile on my face…

The first thing that has done that is yesterday I got a call from the centre I’m studying at.  The exam results are finally in and … I passed!  Whohoo.    I was fairly confident believing after the event I’d done enough to pass but the official confirmation is always nice to get obviously.  So all set for the new term starting next week.  After a lengthy summer break I need to get myself back into the habit of study work.

Other ones to raise a smile in the last week or so include my son getting his second paper published.  My daughter reconfiguring her bedroom and helping her construct a new desk that has more actual desk space so it is easier for her to do her university work now.

Also the “kids” had bought Mrs F and I tea on the Thames for our 30th anniversary.  We went over the bank holiday weekend.  Lovely time, the boat sailed from Tower Pier and went down to Canary Wharf then back up to the Houses of Parliament whilst we munched through the sandwiches and scones!  The commentary was interesting and I’ve never done a river trip on the Thames like that – or at least I think I did one once when about 10 so that is lost in the sea of befuddled memories.  After that we went to St Katherine’s Dock for meal.  It was heaving there as the round the world clipper race was starting from there the next day which was great to see.  – The sad foot note to that was reading about the sad death of a competitor early into the first leg of the race.  We even saw the Queen’s Golden Jubilee barge that is currently being kept there too.

Congrats on your exam!!! When I looked at your pictures I was struck by how much it looks like the Inner Harbor in Baltimore, Maryland!
