Only a few weeks ago we were digging out some of the worst snow I’ve seen in the 26 years we’ve lived here. And now look at the garden.
Included is my newly built hedgehog house especially for SuburbanBetty. No sign of hedgehogs yet, I don’t recall seeing one in our area for at least 15 years. But it’s a bit where flowers struggle to grow etc and my daughter and I acquired the wood from some roadworks up the road which had meant a tree was ripped out.
I used to hate gardens and gardening it never ended. Do one mow or prune etc and another was needed. Now I get that in all things it’s not a bad thing to tend to it to keep it in good condition.
Gardening is supposed to be a form of therapy. I feel bliss watching my wife do it.
Ha ha! That was funny, EXOPS!

Yes, me too 🙂
Lovely, a garden to enjoy.
Hope you get hedgehogs! The shelter looks great. We’ve been lucky enough to have some visiting for the last few years – just been watching one this evening, we feed them with special hedgehog food (meaty biscuit things) from a wildlife supplier, and they go down a treat with a bowl of fresh water. A couple of years ago had a nest with babies too under the hedge, so always worth leaving some untidy safe spaces for them (and that’s my excuse!)
Oh it’s organic! I love it. I’ll admit I was thinking more like a small stylish dog-house, but clearly your hedgehogs will enjoy this natural shelter. If I built one I’d probably get a skunk or a possum, as those tend to be our wild friends in this area.Nice work! Thank you for posting!!
I would love to have hedgehogs live in my backyard!
Yay to spring!!
