10 Years

Can you believe today marks my 10th sober anniversary?  In someways it feels like more than that, a lifetime in fact in other ways it seems like only yesterday I finally said “I need help”.

10 years! I won’t repeat it all here read my drinking story and recovery story if you want to.

What I would like to say the most huge thank you to the nurse who suggested rehab, the doctor who assessed me, all those that worked in the rehab, all the friends of Bill W who I have met and who have helped my journey and all those I’ve never met but whose spirit keeps me sober today.

I love you all.

  7. That’s fantastic, Graham!! I couldn’t be happier for you, kind sir. I am indebted to your wise and kind words over the time we’ve known each other out here, and I know that you’ve touched many lives and will continue to do so.

Happy Birthday! Nice that you acknowledge the others who helped you onto the path — but take a moment to recognize that it only happened because ONE person made a commitment. That guy in the mirror? Offer him a pat on the back, too…. Congratulations!

Happy Anniversary my friend. It is a beautiful moment to watch the days add up. Ten years was the equivalent of ten days when I first got sober—both seemed impossible. Thank you for sharing your journey here on the blog. We are all richer for knowing you.

  11. Congrats on those 10 years, WOW.
